Software Engineer – Automotive Systems (MATLAB/Simulink)

Location: Riverside, California

They are seeking a Software Engineer to help shape the future of transportation by developing cutting-edge software systems that control vehicle hardware. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing team during a pivotal phase of product development, with a major launch planned for 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop software systems and applications using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Build software requirements from the ground up and translate vehicle-level needs into detailed software specifications.
• Test and troubleshoot software to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with international development teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of software and systems.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in the automotive industry.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong proficiency in C programming and version control using GitHub.
• Proven ability to manage and build software requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with electric vehicle technologies.
• Familiarity with cross-functional collaboration, especially with offshore teams.

Work Environment

You’ll be joining a dynamic and expanding team—currently 3 members locally, with plans to grow to 10 by year-end. You’ll also work closely with a third-party development team based in China- traveling there for 1 month out of the year, contributing to a collaborative and globally integrated development process. This role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact during the early stages of a major product launch.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
