It consists of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) and the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (CES), and is home to more than 1400 employees. Assist farm foreman as mechanic in maintaining and repair of farm research and irrigation equipment. Maintain gas and diesel tank records and vehicle reports.
Assist with field layout, flagging, trip marks, and planting.
Manage mixing and application of chemicals to research plots and production acreage upon direction from farm foreman and/or program assistant.
Assist in recording research data.
Manage irrigation monitoring, run times and maintaining research plots for weeds.
Oversee fertilizer application to research plots and production acres. Apply herbicide to all research plots as instructed.
Manage repair and fabrication as needed to spray booms.
Maintain close contact with farm foreman on progress of field work performed and other duties as required.
The formal education equivalency of a high school education with ability to read and write; plus two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of farm equipment or a related field.
