Account Manager & Country Lead FWA (French West Africa)

Job Purpose:

Weatherford International, a leading global provider of oil and gas services and equipment, is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Account Manager/Country Lead based in Pointe Noire, Republic of Congo. The Account Manager/Country Lead will be responsible for overseeing Weatherford's operations in French West Africa, managing key client relationships, and driving business growth in the region. This strategic leadership role requires a deep understanding of the Congolese oil and gas market, strong business acumen, and exceptional relationship management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Weatherford's primary representative in the FWA, managing relationships with key clients, government officials, and industry stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets for the FWA operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing local team, ensuring compliance with Weatherford's global standards and practices
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop proposals to expand Weatherford's market share in the region.
  • Ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction across all service lines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with major clients and other operators in the region.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and commercial terms.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax requirements, and Weatherford's global policies.
  • Implement and maintain HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and practices.
  • Manage the P&L for the country operations, including budget planning and cost control.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership to align country operations with broader regional strategies.

Qualifications Required:

  • Nationality: Congolese nationals are encouraged to apply.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in Completions or ISDT (Intervention Services & Drilling Tools) is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the FWA oil and gas market, regulatory environment, and key stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex operations.
  • Languages: Fluency in French and English (both written and spoken).
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of oilfield services, equipment, and technologies.
  • Business Acumen: Strong commercial and financial management skills.
  • Relationship Management: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
