The Spool Cable Specialist is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, spooling, and maintenance of wireline cables used in oilfield operations. This role ensures that all cable-related activities comply with Weatherford’s operational standards, safety protocols, and quality requirements. The specialist plays a critical role in supporting wireline services by maintaining cable integrity and readiness for deployment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain spooling equipment to handle wireline cables during preparation and retrieval.
• Inspect cables for damage, wear, and compliance with operational standards.
• Perform cable maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and tension adjustments.
• Ensure proper cable storage and transportation to prevent damage and maintain serviceability.
• Maintain accurate records of cable usage, inspections, and repairs.
• Adhere to Weatherford’s safety policies and industry regulations during all operations.
• Troubleshoot cable-related issues and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
• Support inventory management for wireline cables and related equipment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of cable handling systems.
• Ability to operate spooling machines and related wireline equipment safely.
• Attention to detail for cable inspection and maintenance tasks.
• Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting cable issues.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in wireline operations or cable handling.
• Familiarity with oilfield safety practices and wireline service standards.
• Ability to work in challenging environments and adapt to operational demands.
• Physical capability to handle heavy equipment and perform manual tasks safely.
