Job Summary
The Fabrication job family ensures an environment of continuous improvement exists in the organizations production processes, operating procedures and workflows in order to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction. General areas of responsibility include producing products for OEM partners; developing quality objectives; documenting procedures; implementing and measuring quality measurements; delivering training; and leading the organization through industry quality certification processes. Positions in fabrication as a Machine Operator include areas in Laser Cutting, Laser Punch Presses, Tube Laser, Forming (Press Brakes), Stamping, Machining, Robotic Welding, Saw, Bar Room, and Utility.

Function in the Job
Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Job Function
- Prepares production equipment for operation by making equipment setup adjustments and/or working with a setup operator that assists in equipment changeovers.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
- Maintains quality standard specifications by conducting first-piece inspection, periodic inspection, and completing production control charts.
- Helps train others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures.
- Maintains machine operation by solving production process problems; making authorized equipment adjustments; and reporting production and quality data.
- Ensures operation of equipment by following preventative maintenance policies and procedures and timely reporting of needed changes and repairs.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed through team assist and re-assignments.
- Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
- Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
- Meet established production standards for the department.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Performing other duties or functions as requested by management.
Required Skills
- 1 year of experience as a machine operator a plus.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, work orders, and use various measuring instruments is preferred. Development of these skills provided through in-house training.
