$107,723.00 - $161,595.00

Salaried position

Monday to Friday / 8 hour shift

Under the general direction of the Neuroscience Services Manager, the Neursurgery Patient Navigator offers individualized assistance to patients, families and caregivers to help overcome healthcare barriers. Using the nursing process, provides education and resources to facilitate informed decision-making and timely access to health and psychosocial care throughout all phases of the neurosurgical care continuum. The Patient Navigator communicates and collaborates effectively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, ensure continuity of care, and foster excellent patient experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing required, BSN preferred.
  • Requires current Washington State Registered Nurse License required. Healthcare Provider CPR certification is also required prior to start.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience required with at least 1 year of relevant experience in the specific patient population preferred.
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English, communicates effectively using tact, discretion and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrates specific knowledge in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Physiatry, specifically for the adult population.
  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Direct patient care, being able to help see occasional surgical patients (mostly postop)
  • wound care guidance
  • referral queue management
  • backup support of our clinical MA Team
  • liaison to referring offices
  • reinforcing clinic policies regarding pain medication mgmt, etc
  • collaboration with Physiatry, developing Spine Program
  • program planning and evaluation
  • participation in staff development and education
  • quality improvement initiatives.
