Children’s Wisconsin is seeking an RN Clinical Enhancement & Quality Clinician.
Work Schedule: Part-Time 16 hours/week . Work hours are flexible once orientation is completed.
Work location: Hybrid and must be local to Milwaukee to attend onsite meetings quarterly
What you will do:
Collect, enter and assure accurate data collection for the Virtual Pediatric Systems (VPS), Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium (PC4), and Pediatric Acute Care Cardiology Collaborative (PAC3) databases in collaboration with the Quality and Outcomes Manager.
Essential Functions
- Performs daily data entry utilizing computer skills, available software and the VPS, PC4, and PAC3 databases. Develops and maintains an accurate and complete database. Complies with all, but not limited to, HIPAA regulation, IRB, and regulatory agencies.
- Confers regularly with the Quality and Outcomes Manager relative to the progress of projects, problems, etc. Prepares and submits progress and summary reports of projects as required with follow-up as directed.
- Demonstrates accuracy in data collection through inter-rater reliability testing and internal and external audits.
- Works collaboratively with providers, PICU/CICU UB-APNs, other VPS/PC4/PAC3 member sites, and consultants in order to enhance quality or identify opportunities for improvement in patient outcomes utilizing data from local and multi-center quality projects.
- Regularly attends and participates in local and collaborative-wide teleconferences and educational opportunities with other data clinicians and care team members.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with all members of the health care team.
- Continually seeks ways to improve individual and department performance. Helps develop and communicates innovations to department leadership and works collaboratively with other department members to implement appropriate performance improvement processes as a response to trend analysis.
- Uses knowledge of potential barriers and facilitators of change to achieve the best outcome. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to change.
- Formulates and pursues individual professional goals.
- Acts as a professional role model in all aspects of performance.
What you will need:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
License RN-Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin required
Experience:
- Three or more years of pediatric/cardiac intensive care experience, in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of critical care nursing procedures and standards required
- Clinical chart review and abstraction experience from the electronic health record preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) training required within 4 months of employment and must be kept current.
- Demonstrated competencies in Word, Excel, and Epic electronic health record.
- An understanding of CW health care delivery system and the impact of other health care delivery systems on the patient and family.
- Mental and sensory abilities to read, process, and interpret clinical data.
- Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with interdisciplinary health team members, other CW departments, and other database members.
- Analytical skills necessary to resolve complex patient problems, develop standards of care and procedures, and evaluate the quality of nursing care.
