Overview

Provides leadership for the development, implementation and maintenance of the electronic health record. Responsible for the day to day operations of the ambulatory health record systems’ environments, ensuring that the systems are effectively managed and supported. The Manager facilitates the use of the EHR and associated systems in MMC.

The Manager, manages EHR implementation inclusive of (but not limited to) establishing project timelines, milestones, scope, go-live budget, staffing requirements, PI/Metrics, testing, training and pre and post implementation maintenance. Ensures that State and regulatory requirements are met. Works collaboratively with senior management ensuring deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages all phases of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) initiative including - RFP development, data gathering, workflow design, budgeting, testing, implementation, integration, training, and ongoing support.
  • Oversees project staff to develop work plans with defined goals, timelines, and standards, ensuring cohesive teamwork and timely issue resolution.
  • Coordinates EHR technology efforts in alignment with the Medical Center’s strategic plan, collaborating closely with senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Conducts system assessments, analyzes data, and identifies opportunities for improvement, interoperability, and workflow optimization across acute and ambulatory services.
  • Provides clinical and analytical guidance to project teams, ensuring staff are properly trained and implementation processes are accurate and complete.
  • Participates in leadership functions including hiring, performance management, change management strategy, and participation in steering and IT committees.
  • Communicates initiatives, maintains departmental policies, and performs additional duties to support the success of EHR and related health technology projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s Degree, professional licensure (such as MD or RN), and/or related certifications in Healthcare Technology preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with electronic clinical or healthcare systems, including ambulatory health systems
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Proven experience in clinical process improvement, organizational change, and project management
  • Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office Suite
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and optimize manual and automated processes
  • Demonstrated success in workflow design, automation, and documentation
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to adapt to new technologies

Pay Range

USD $141,371.00 - USD $158,140.00 /Yr.
