Overview
Coordinate and perform payroll services to Agencies within Latin America (including Costa Rica), in order to guarantee and ensure the integrity of the accounting information, internal policies adherence and compliance with law and public Institutions of each country through a correct payroll process.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full payroll cycle: process and review payroll prior to payment, ensuring accuracy in all components such as deductions, new hires, changes in employment status, resignations, dismissals, and bonuses.
- Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs): effectively managing deadlines, workload, and communication with agencies and internal counterparts.
- Guarantee accurate payroll disbursements and deductions: ensure all employee payments, benefits, and transfers are processed correctly and on time.
- Collaborate in payroll system implementation and migration projects: working closely with Payroll partners to set up payroll processes for each country or agency.
- Calculate and process severance and termination payments: ensure compliance with local labor laws and company policies.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports and payments: ensure each country’s SLA, including (but not limited to) Social Security, insurance, and tax obligations.
- Support audit processes: follow recommendations, maintaining proactive payroll controls, and ensuring adherence to internal and external compliance requirements.
- Review and analyze accounting records: prepared by the payroll department, including journal entries for payroll, terminations, bonuses, and other payments. Ensure the accuracy of entries before submission to clients or accounting teams.
- Maintain the accuracy of the payroll chart of accounts: perform periodic reviews before sharing financial information with stakeholders.
- Validate payroll calculations: ensure correctness each time the payroll process is executed.
- Perform a three-way match for legal reporting: reconciling Journal Entry payroll data with Social Security and Tax reports from the ERP system and corresponding legal invoices.
- Support payroll reconciliation activities: coordinate with the accounting department to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment of payroll data.
Qualifications
- Studies related to Business Administration or Accounting.
- At least 2 years in Payroll positions.
- Accounting knowledge.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Basic/Intermediate English skills.
- Softland knowledge and Latam Labor Law is a plus.
