Summary
- This position works under the supervision of Environmental Services Leadership. Provides cleaning inpatient and non-patient areas, moves furniture, and performs a variety of miscellaneous responsibilities necessary to maintain a sanitary, safe, orderly and attractive environment.
Duties
- Demonstrates proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of cleaning and disinfecting chemicals.
- Performs terminal cleaning of discharged patient rooms, following the appropriate cleaning checklist.
- Performs cleaning of public restrooms, common, and ancillary areas throughout the facility and replenishes housekeeping supplies as assigned.
- Demonstrates the ability to properly empty waste receptacles, change needle (sharps) containers, and transports regular and bio-hazard waste to appropriate destinations.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred.
- CPI training for those working in Mental Health required within 180 days of hire.
- Cleaning experience preferred.
