Position Description:

We are currently looking for an Advanced Electrical Design Engineer for VECE COE team, be responsible for PSS (Productivity Solutions and Services) GBE (Golden Business Enterprise) products’ life cycle management, including obsolescence, cost reductions, and design for supply chain resiliency actions. Product lines in PSS includes (but not limited to): barcode scanner, rugged mobility computer, barcode printer, optical scan engine, voice recognition devices... This role includes identification of product cost saving opportunities through alternate supplier qualification, product design standardization, and factory transfers. To achieve this goal, we will need to leverage your technical expertise on electrical engineering, and your innovation on new technology and design, as well as your VECE methodology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in any of the VE/CE Life Cycle as in ideation, evaluation, execution and implementation stages of the ideas and projects.
  • Perform a key role in material obsolescence / shortage issues.
  • Cooperative work with the whole project team (R&D, manufacture, sourcing, marketing, quality etc.) to meet the 3-on (on time, on cost, on quality) goals based on Honeywell Development Process.
  • Review the current electronic board design considering the current technologies in terms of component, materials & process, propose ideations to reduce BoM cost by redesign & optimization.
  • Select component/materials and deal with appropriate component selection tools (Preferred Parts List, Preferred Suppliers List, etc.).
  • Build prototypes, identify issues, and follow up on corrective actions, verify the products until design goal been met.
  • Work with testing and manufacture engineers to verify the DFM/DFT (Design For Manufacture/Design For Test), doing on-line debug and improve the production yield.
  • Product Verification and Production Transfer
  • Track record of the design and test (developer test, functional test, automated test, climatic test) using HON specific tools (JIRA, JAMA, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree or above in Electronic Engineering or equivalent subject
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering position, designing/developing electronic products.
  • Prefer have experience on below components/system: LCD/TP (Liquid Crystal Display/Touch Panel) , Bluetooth/Wifi, USB interface and USB compliance, micro processor, CMOS image sensor, battery, motor, speaker…
  • Knowledge of electronic components, their parameters and characteristics and experience with conditional qualification testing
  • Knowledge of electronic circuits and subsystems
  • Knowledge of PCB CAD design systems, CAD tools, and Simulation Tools
  • Experience in EMC and product testing
  • Very good written and spoken English, very good communication and negotiation skills, experience multitasking and prioritizing workload.
  • Experience managing projects.
