What you will do?

  • Directs the procurement of materials, components, supplies, equipment and services that meet the operation’s requirements for quality, delivery, price and terms, lead times, and inventory levels. Commitment to Quality: Purchase from suppliers evaluated for their ability to provide materials and services that conform to specified requirements.
  • Comply with the guidelines and regulations of Environmental Health & Safety.

How you will do it?

  • Responsible for procurement of MRO and raw material components, including electronic parts, molded parts, electromechanical, machined parts, and refrigeration components.
  • Implement shared Kanban systems with key suppliers to enable a more efficient delivery flow aligned with real-time company needs
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Participate in negotiations of long-term contracts with tier one suppliers.
  • Manages procurement of materials to meet the goals of JCI regarding inventory levels, turns, cost, quality and customer requirements.
  • Monitor weekly basis in compliance with the KPI reports
  • Manages, develops, motivates and trains material planning staff.
  • Complies with corporate and plant Purchasing goals, objectives, policies, strategies, and procedures.
  • Teams up with design engineering functions to evaluate alternate material and process changes.
  • E&O review and follow up with actions to minimize inventory impact
  • Support procurement in reduction initiatives, cost & lead time reduction, supplier consolidation, inventory management programs with supply base that includes vendor stocking, consignment, vendor-managed inventory.
  • Maintain inventory at optimal level while ensuring efficient operational processes and maintain customer delivery expectations\
  • Implement Kanban principles to identify areas for improvement in the purchasing cycle
  • Performs special projects related to function as assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations management) with experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support.
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • At least two years as supervisor preferably in a supply chain role.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal (bilingual).
  • Experienced, working in a fast paced high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Responsible, well organized, immediate response to all internal and external customers.
  • APICS Certification in CPIM Preferred.
