The clinical applications supervisor at Salem Health plays a key role in leading and developing a team of clinical application specialists, driving excellence in system implementation, support, and optimization. This position requires a strong technical expert with excellent leadership and communication skills, who can foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care through technology and has a proven track record of success in a supervisory role.

What you'll do

  • Leads and develops a high-performing team through effective coaching, feedback, and accountability, ensuring employees understand their role and responsibilities in achieving organizational success; promotes collaboration and teamwork; This position is responsible for overseeing a team comprised of the following positions: applications analyst senior, applications analyst II, and application analyst I.
  • Establishes and communicates clear expectations, provides ongoing coaching and feedback, and holds staff accountable for adhering to standards and ensuring quality products and services.
  • Models open, clear, and consistent communication, managing the team's response to communications and ensuring employees are informed about department and organizational goals, strategies, and action plans.
  • Maintains expertise in clinical applications and technology, providing expert guidance in design, build, and implementation of solutions and driving projects to successful completion.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, using performance improvement tools and processes to drive quality and service excellence, and holding employees accountable for completing Lean activities.
  • Plans strategically and manages resources, developing and executing plans for the future direction of clinical applications, coordinating schedules and assignments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory issues.
  • Creates a learning environment, developing opportunities for employees to grow and develop their skills, and staying current with industry trends and vendor recommended practices.
  • Oversees the onboarding and training of new team members, delegating responsibility according to individual skills, knowledge, and abilities, and supervising the team within tasks and projects.

Required qualifications

  • Epic certification or accreditation.
  • Minimum of one year of progressive leadership experience.
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience within relevant healthcare or business applications.

Additional information

  • Candidates will thrive in this role by demonstrating expertise in project management and healthcare technology implementation, with a solid understanding of clinical and IT workflows.
  • Success in this position demands strong technical knowledge of healthcare information systems, including Epic, and proficiency in software development and implementation methodologies; experience with IT Service Management tools like ServiceNow is highly valued.
  • Professionals in this role will possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and lead teams with strong organizational skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective time management and prioritization are essential, with the ability to create and track project plans, and strong working knowledge of MS Windows, Office Suite, and assigned applications and technologies.
