Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position.

This position is responsible for managing implementations of projects to develop, establish and prove initiatives that drive projects that have a positive impact top the organization. The primary area of focus for this role will be to manage implementation projects within Store Operations and act as the liaison between Store Operations and various organizations and departments outside of Store Operations. These project activities are of varying types including operational events, realignments, new technologies and implementations, and other key initiatives and strategies to improve company metrics.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance

  • Establish project scope, goals, timeline, project plan, communications and deliverables that support the project goals in collaboration with management and stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, track actual project costs and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Plan, schedule, track and report project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans
  • Build, develop and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project with both internal and external resources
  • Conduct postmortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and implementation
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Work Experience

Experience: Minimum of three years project management experience; experience in medium to large size, multi-location companies

Job Related Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; Strong collaborative skills, particularly across cross-functional teams

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Application Proficiency (Word, Excel, Power point, Access)

Desired Qualifications - Desired but not required

MS Project experience preferred
