The Global Markets business offers risk management solutions, investment products, and execution services to a diverse client base, including corporates, financial institutions, sponsor, and individuals.
This interim, client-facing position offers you the chance to collaborate closely with the front office on a broad spectrum of derivatives and securities financing transactions, as well as other legal initiatives within SCIB’s UK operations.

The difference you’ll make:
- Drafting and negotiating legal documentation for derivatives and securities financing transactions, including master trading agreements, transaction-level documentation, security documentation, netting and collateral agreements, as well as related ancillary documentation
- Structuring, reviewing and leading on transaction documentation throughout the deal lifecycle – from initial pitches and mandates, through structuring and term sheets to execution
- Reviewing and negotiating facility agreements, bond documents, security documents, intercreditor or subordination agreements, common terms agreements, master definition agreements, confidentiality agreements, hedging letters and other documents associated with master trading agreements and transactions
- Monitoring, interpreting, and embedding relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting SCIB Markets UK business, ensuring these are reflected in all product and transaction documentation
- Delivering proactive legal support to the trading floor, responding to queries and providing practical, business-focused advice
- Contributing to non-transactional legal projects and broader business initiatives as required
What you’ll bring:
These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
- Significant experience of negotiating ISDA and GMRA agreements, demonstrating your expertise in complex derivatives and securities financing documentation
- Qualified lawyer (minimum 4 years’ PQE), with experience gleaned in a law firm or financial institution
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible way
- Proven stakeholder management skills, enabling you to build strong relationships across business functions
- Deep understanding of legal risks relevant to financial markets, and the ability to identify and mitigate these effectively
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK financial regulations and their practical application in transactional work
- Outstanding attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work, accurate legal work
It would also be nice for you to have:
- Additional European language skills are an advantage
What else you need to know:
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave and has the potential to extend. The role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 3 days a week (pro-rata for part-time roles).

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. For contract roles, your salary, bonus (where eligible) and certain benefits will be prorated to reflect your contract duration.
- We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
- 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
