Job Summary

Reportingto the Senior Director of Finance, the Lead Analyst, FP&A will utilize their financial and strategic analytical skills to support FP&A group on key initiatives including month end close, budgeting & planning, building business unit dashboards/metrics, process improvements, business case development, pricing and decision support.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Drive financial performance and business activity, to deliver and communicate performance and business planning submissions/reporting, and to advise management on key drivers.
  • Assist in building business unit and departmental dashboards and measure/monitor key metrics/KPIs
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget, strategy plan, and forecast
  • Drive special projects that require high-level financial skills and strong understanding of financial processes (Business Case Development, Product P&L, KPIs/Metrics tracking etc.)
  • Foster an environment of change; find new and efficient ways to do things and implement continuous process improvement
  • Lead several pricing initiatives for new product launch or business initiatives including M&A.
  • Collaborate and build effective partnerships with various teams in Canada, US and UK on a regular basis and establish effective lines of communication
  • Team player that is able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and holds a keen interest in learning about the business and the industry as a whole
  • Assists with training all new associates and existing staff relating to new procedures and processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance or Business Administration. Fully designated either CA/CMA/CGA.

Tools: Strong skills in Oracle, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with TM1, Hyperion Essbase or any other reporting/planning tool is a requirement. Must have strong analytical skills, understanding of pricing models, and be detailed oriented. Solid organizational and communication skills.

Yrs. of Experience: 5-7 years of Accounting and/or FP&A experience with exposure to financial statement preparation/reporting and budgeting. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle a fast paced work environment.

Communication Skills: Ability to present original concepts and ideas to senior management both verbally and in writing.
