Job Title

Senior Financial Accountant

Purpose of the Role

This role is responsible for billing customers (third party and internal), debt collection, accrual accounting, bank reconciliations and compliance activities (GST, VAT returns in multiple jurisdictions)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Revenue billing accuracy, timeliness and completeness: Customer invoicing and bank reconciliations. 
  • Compliance Obligations: Tax preparation – BAS, Payroll and Income tax (transfer pricing) calculation, lodgment and refund/payment requests for multi-subsidiaries or branches to multi-tax bodies. 
  • Financial Reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually): Prepare and record assets, liability, revenue, and expenditures and document with monthly balance sheet reconciliations. 
  • Support with half yearly and yearly statutory reporting obligations. 

Relevant Work Experience:

  • Finance team in a busy, professional hands-on role performing full function accounting and reporting for a medium sized business.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements Experience with general ledger functions and formal month-end/year-end clos
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages process to timetable Strong numeracy skills, timeliness, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze information and solve problems systematically Advanced MS Excel skills including lookups and pivot tables.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, services accounting, working for an overseas listed group
  • Accounting qualification, knowledge of AGAAP. Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA/CA required.
