The Director, Regulatory Compliance Support leadsateam ofprofessionalsthatcreate,maintain,andensure complianceofthepolicies,procedures, processes, and training in establishing the national platform for Medxcel facilities management operations across the United States.The position holds primary responsibility for assuring that policies, procedures, and protocols enable standardization and optimization of operations.

The Director is responsible for implementing and continued review of the Current State Health Assessment (CSHA) model for Medxcel-managed healthcare facilities. The CSHA will establish a baseline conditional assessment for Medxcel operations, assets, and compliance of the Joint Commission’s Physical Environment. The assessment will include operational status, life safety assessment/Statement of Conditions, fire safety evaluation systems, the Joint Commission’s Physical Environment compliance reviews, and Life Safety Building Maintenance Programs (BMP), mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. Compliance is ensured and maintained by Regulatory Compliance Directors with direct reporting to the Director.

The Director provides leadership, support and programs to the Regulatory Compliance Manager and his/her team to ensure a smooth transition from a client/customer-based facility operation system to Medxcel’s Facility Management Operating Systems (FMOS).

This position will be located at Medxcel Central Office- Indianpolis, IN.

Responsibilities

National Innovation and Strategy Management – 50%

  • Develop Medxcel’s platform of operations and compliance programs in meeting the requirements for The Joint Commission (TJC), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), OSHA, state and local authorities.
  • Work effectively with Medxcel executives and other leaders to drive business innovation, service strategies, revenue growth, and continuous improvement processes at the national level to ensure service excellence.
  • Continue the implementation and ongoing training and education on Medxcel’s Facility Management Operating System (FMOS).
  • Provide the support and leadership to a team of subject matter experts that evaluate the Facility Management Operating System (FMOS) which provides the following processes: consolidation of existing programs and documents, standardization of operational and compliance programs across all Medxcel operations, and optimization to solidify a level of operational excellence.
  • Lead the Facilities Regulatory Compliance Team to update, assess, and maintain the Current State Health Assessment (CSHA) program, establishing a baseline operational and compliance assessment for Medxcel-managed healthcare facilities and the local Authority having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Manage and support the team of Regulatory Compliance Directors and Regional Compliance Support Managers to ensure operational and regulatory compliance at the facility level.
  • Assist Medxcel team to identify operational and financial opportunities within the organization’s Engineering/Facility departments.
  • Support and maintain operating protocols for Life and Fire Safety, mechanical, electrical, boilers, chillers, generators, hot water and chilled water systems.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the integration, standardization, and compliance of Medxcel’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) – Field Services.
  • Assist on-site and regional leadership in achieving high performance through the support and execution of controls designed to allow leadership to meet service delivery objectives and create high customer satisfaction.
  • Perform in-depth quality reviews of site operations using the tools provided by Medxcel and establish on- going plans, goals, and objectives to correct deficiencies and improve performance.
  • Participate in the establishment and approval of training, staffing, and resource plans and monitor performance relative to such plans.

Customer Relationship Management (20%)

  • Collaborate with Medxcel Facilities’ team to create and deliver training programs for engineering leaderships and associates.
  • Assist on-site management with ensuring the customer’s program understanding, customer satisfaction, strategic partnering, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop and nurture key customer relationships to create a high degree of loyalty to Medxcel in addition to local operations.
  • Be visible and available to key customer leadership during frequent site visits.
  • Create, support, and maintain assessment and measurement tools that allow exceptional customer relationship.
  • Collaborate with Medxcel team to create and deliver training programs for engineering leadership and associates.
  • Conduct periodic business and compliance reviews with customers.
  • Assist on-site management with ensuring the customer’s program understanding, customer satisfaction, strategic partnering, and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or management required (or equivalent experience 25 years with no degree)- required.
  • MBA and graduate degree-preferred.

License/Certification:

  • Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) certification-preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 20 years’ experience working in a healthcare facilities management or field management in healthcare facilities outsourcing- required.
  • Minimum 15 years managerial experience with emphasis on leading a business- required.
  • Strategic capability in financial planning, resource allocation, analysis and business process development and improvement- required.
  • Experience leading and mentoring healthcare directors and executives- required.
  • Experience in creating a Facility Maintenance Operating System and Start Up protocols- required.
  • Experience in developing service programs, with an emphasis on TJC, CMS and engineering systems- required.
  • Project management skills including coordination, communication, prioritization, troubleshooting, adherence to budget and completion goals, and recruiting resources- required.
  • Travel – 40 - 60% (overnight required)- required.
