The Toro Company has an opening for an Engineering Manager, reporting to company headquarters in Bloomington, Minnesota. Responsible for the overall performance and growth of the Operations & Manufacturing Engineering group. Direct development and execution of short and long range strategies to ensure manufacturing plants are able to achieve their goals in safety, quality, service, productivity, and capability. Interact with Operations and plant leadership, adhere to standards for manufacturing process design and project management, and direct people management and strategic leadership. Drive optimization of manufacturing processes worldwide through a global approach to project execution. Collaborate with other Operations functions to drive entire organization towards a common set of goals, policies and objectives related to Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, and Capability in the manufacturing plants. Direct and control activities of a group of Manufacturing Engineers responsible for the execution of projects aimed at improving manufacturing capabilities and performance on a global scale. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods. Endorse use of Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvement and standardization. Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electromechanical Engineering, or an equivalent foreign degree, Master degree is desire on Business, Finance or equivalent. Position also requires ten (10) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate management experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, lean certification or equivalent with more than 5 years of experience leading and supporting lean strategies across multiple sites. Experience must include managing the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in electromechanical engineering projects on an international scale, management of the new product introduction to the operations connecting design and operations as well as development, research, integration and implementation of technology and automation for electromechanical products; directing, reviewing, and approving project design changes in a manufacturing or engineering environment; preparing electromechanical departmental budgets in excess of US $6 million; directing the recruitment, placement, and evaluation of engineering project staff and leading cross-functional electromechanical engineering teams; and leading manufacturing improvement strategies for electromechanical products for commercial and residential use.
