As a The Maintenance, Reliability & Utility Manager, you will manage the entire lifecycle of the manufacturing plant's equipment, machinery, and building facilities. This includes ensuring operational efficiency and safety through developing and implementing maintenance strategies, leading and managing maintenance teams and budgets, and coordinating repairs and projects. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing preventive maintenance, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) like Operating Equipment Efficiency (OEE), implementing and utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), executing the Reliability Program to improve and extend the lifespan of equipment and components/parts, and maintaining compliance with safety, environmental regulations, and quality standards to minimize downtime and control costs.
You will report to the Plant Manager, and oversees a team of four.
What you will do:
- Develop comprehensive strategies, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs, to extend equipment lifespan and enhance performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures to develop solutions that prevent future issues and enhance reliability.
- Lead and train a team of technicians and engineers, overseeing daily work assignments, performance reviews, and skill development to foster a high-performance maintenance culture.
- Lead and foster the corporate safety culture, ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with company and regulatory health and safety standards.
- Develop, monitor, and control budgets for maintenance and capital expenditures, balancing costs with reliability and efficiency objectives to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee the management of spare parts and materials (MRO), ensuring proper inventory levels to reduce maintenance delays and optimize working capital.
- Maintain and enforce all relevant local authority (DOSH, DOE, etc.) standards and regulations, as well as all applicable health, safety, environmental (HSE), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations. Also, ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
- Conduct regular facility walk-throughs to inspect equipment, identify potential problems, and ensure the facility operates smoothly.
- Manage and ensure that the vendors working with us comply with all our standards and requirements, and can support and deliver the job as per our expectations.
- Supervise the implementation of the reliability program in accordance with company standards and utilize predictive maintenance tools (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis) to proactively detect and address potential issues.
- Develop and implement emergency plans for incidents like fires, natural disasters, or utility outages, and support the response efforts.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Honors or an equivalent technical qualification from an accredited university.
- Work experience in a managerial role in the manufacturing sector within the F&B, FMCG, or pharmaceutical industry in Malaysia for at least 10 years.
- Experience with ERP and CMMS systems, preferably SAP.
- Proficiency in MS 365 is required.
- Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both written and spoken.
Who you are:
- Excellent technical knowledge in overall production & facility equipment, such as but not limited to Tanks, Piping, Rotating Equipment, Hydraulic & Pneumatic System, Electrical Panel, Instrumentation, & Control System (PLC & DCS), ACMV, Water Treatment System, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Boiler, and other equipment in the plant.
- Possessing any technical certification and competency, such as but not limited to Technologist, Registered Energy Manager (REM), B0 Chargeman, and others required for a manufacturing plant by the authority, is an added advantage.
- Possessing experience and knowledge of ATEX or NFPA explosion standards is an added advantage.
- Experience and knowledge in Lean Manufacturing with certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) is an added advantage
- Experience in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) reporting, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) development and updates, as well as Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
