Supervisor, Operations (50142)

This position has responsibility for Receiving, Put away, Picking and Shipping Operations. Directs and controls all elements of the distribution process, operating within capital and operating budget parameters.

  • Provide management of the daily operational related activities within the NDC Distribution Center, including providing leadership to approximately 20 employees. Responsibilities to include designing process workflows and overall departmental productivity.
  • Monitor warehouse flow and adjust staff accordingly to meet daily business needs. Set up process rules in the WMS to help ensure proper flow of inventory movements.
  • Perform administrative functions for these areas to include the coordination of component special requests, payroll reconciliation, hiring and other personnel decisions.
  • Create, modify, and execute various reports from various sources including WMS, ERP, TMS, or other data mining tools to monitor inventory movement and capacity to ensure effective slotting is being achieved and inventory issues are being corrected.
  • Work directly with various areas including Purchasing, Information Technology and Customer Service to research and resolve inventory variations between systems, and customer inquiries.
  • Proactively manage damaged shipments and lot-control information to ensure high in-stock levels and customer satisfaction.
  • Performance management of hourly staff ensuring all quality, productivity, and attendance KPIs are being met and taking corrective actions when there are gaps.
  • Provide a safe work environment that includes daily monitoring of employee activities, providing constructive feedback, and weekly safety training events.
  • All employees are expected to protect the confidentiality of patient health information.

  • Four-year degree in supply chain/logistics or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving cost/labor productivity in a distribution center environment. Expertise with leading inbound, outbound, inventory control, & Returns
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office is required. Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems, Slotting Software, Transportation Management Systems, and/or ERP Systems is preferred.
  • Background in LEAN, Six Sigma, and/or continuous improvement is preferred.
  • Strong skills in planning, problem solving, analysis, and organization.
  • Excellent people skills, motivational ability and a positive attitude.
  • Prior experience supervising a team preferred.
