Description
As a Phlebotomist with the Santa Monica Hospital Laboratory, your duties include:
- Performs pre-analytical and post-analytical activities and specimen processing duties
- Performs phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients, including neonatal/pediatric patients
- Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information
- Enter and verify patient and test info into computer
- Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas
- Prepare samples for transport to referral labs
- Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens
Salary Range: $34.10 - $43.25/hour
Qualifications
- Current and valid California State CPT certificate
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET)
- At least two(2) years of licensed phlebotomy experience in high volume hospital setting
- Previous experience performing specimen processing in an acute care facility, highly preferred
- Previous experience in EPIC, highly preferred
- Knowledge of Clinical Lab test names and their abbreviated forms
- Ability to multi-task with accuracy
- Excellent time and organizational skills
- Skill in using a computer and printer
