Job Summary
Enrollment Management at CU Boulder welcomes applications for the Senior Assistant Director, Colorado Recruitment! This position reports to the Associate Director of First-Year Recruitment in the Office of Admissions and plays a pivotal role in delivering strategic recruitment initiatives. It involves high-level collaboration and active participation in the development and implementation of admissions procedures and engagements that directly impact prospective students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Travel Planning & Leadership:
Actively contributes to discussions with admissions leadership around travel recruitment strategy. Independently plans and implements significant travel within a designated recruitment territory, aligning efforts with institutional goals and outreach priorities.
Territory Management & Recruitment Execution:
Represents the University of Colorado Boulder to a wide range of constituents including prospective students, families, high school counselors, community leaders, and campus partners. This representation occurs through a variety of channels including in-person interactions, email correspondence, phone conversations, and one-on-one meetings. Senior Assistant Director will also develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy for a designated territory, which includes high school visits, college fairs, workshops, and panels.
Staff Development & Team Leadership:
Mentors and guides in-state and out-of-state recruiters. Plans and leads professional development sessions—either independently or in collaboration with First-Year Team leadership—focused on enhancing staff effectiveness, engagement, and growth.
Motivational Leadership & Counselor Support:
Offers insight into the “why” behind various admissions responsibilities, helping counselors connect their work to broader institutional goals and student impact. Serves as a source of motivation and clarity, reinforcing purpose and standard processes across the team.
Campus Engagement & Visibility:
Supports on-campus programming such as daily admissions presentations and larger campus events in collaboration with the Visit Experience team. Demonstrates commitment and consistent presence in coverage responsibilities. Volunteers for and contributes meaningfully during campus events, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience for prospective students and families.
Support for Access & Top Scholar Initiatives:
Provides direct support to Assistant Directors overseeing access and top scholar initiatives. This includes strategic outreach, and the planning and execution of impactful on-campus visit programs tailored to access and top scholars populations.
Application Review & Evaluation:
Evaluates domestic first-year applications, applying holistic review practices and contributing to the overall admissions decision-making process.
Policy Development & Ethical Standards:
This position will be well-versed in and consistently uphold professional ethics, including the policies of the Office of Admissions and the codes of conduct established by professional organizations in which the university holds membership. Additionally, this individual will actively support and promote the University of Colorado Boulder's commitment to the principles of inclusion.
