Engineer - 3D Printer Operations

List the essential functions:
  • Perform operation and maintenance of 3D Printer (Metal & Polymer AM Machine) as per the Standard Operating Procedure and ensure adherence to MESH and EHS guidelines
  • Capable of performing pre and post processing steps associated with 3d printing, including build set-up and part removal.
  • Capable to handle auxiliary equipment including material sieving station, Wet vacuum, Filtering unit, and Inert Gas set-ups
  • Work in collaboration with tool room. Manufacturing process knowledge (CNC, grinding, others) is required.
  • Reviews CAD models, and provide suggestions for design and orientation changes
  • Capable to track inventory for the raw materials and other consumable. Provide inputs for purchase based on need
  • Coordinate calibration activities for all the equipment’s. Perform equipment maintenance as needed
  • Responsible for executing project plans, adhering to printing schedules & tracking work,
  • Maintain a safe working environment by providing adequate precautions to tests in process.

Demonstrate to the philosophy of 6S and DMAIC, conducts and participate in Kaizen events for set-up and lab facilities


Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing,
  • 1+ years of experience in Metal AM industry. Polymer AM experience is an added plus
  • 3 ~ 5 years of working experience in manufacturing / tool room environment – CNC experience preferred
  • Experience in handling auxiliary systems of a 3D Printer (inert gas systems, material handling, material changeover)
  • Ability to understand and operate CAD software. Magics knowledge is added advantage.
  • Ability to comprehend complex written instructions; Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Past experience in problem solving & continuous improvement through LEAN, KAIZEN or DMAIC
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written) to communicate information effectively to all stakeholders
  • Awareness of heat treatment process/metallurgy is an added advantage
  • Working experience in CAD tools; Preferably ProE / CATIA and experience with PLM tool
  • Design For Six Sigma / DMAIC knowledge
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and product engineering tools
