JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for variety of general accounting and financial analysis assignments. Prepare

financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities. Responsible for reconciliation of financial reports related to country offices for submission to Management

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial reports:

Review, prepare and reconcile monthly and annual consolidated field financial reports and schedules, coordinate the input by Regional Desks and ensure that reports are prepared in a timely manner. Coordinate updates with relevant staff in other corporate offices. As required, ensure that reports are reviewed and approved by the supervisors.

Prepare, reconcile and coordinate approval of the monthly cash request for USG donor projects.

Report Sub recipient details thru The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA). Ensure that reports are submitted in a timely manner.

Prepare other reports, analysis, updates and ad hoc reports requested by other departments, supervisor and/or senior management.

Accounting:

Prepare and record corporate transactions

Review accounts charges and provide input and coordinate necessary corrections with other relevant staff.

Reconcile Global balance sheet accounts

Review month close check off list and communicates non reconciled account balances.

Assist supervisor in monthly accounting review.

Systems development /implementation:

Reconcile and communicate feedback on system report testing

Work with supervisor on new system developments.

Other:

Daily correspondence with other corporate offices on all finance and accounting matters.

Suggest and develop creative solutions to business/process issues and inefficiencies. Work with project teams and various internal business units on testing new business processes/solutions.

Recommend and implement various initiatives related to financial processes, systems, reporting and controls for the finance/accounting team.

Visit the country missions and HQ offices when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Typically, a 4-year Bachelor's degree in a three-cycle Higher Education in accounting, finance or economics. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

3+ years of relevant experience working in finance/accounting related field.

Advanced Excel skills preferred

Fluency in English

Detailed oriented, analytic skills

An ability to gather, analyze and evaluate facts, define problems, draw valid conclusions

An ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with other staff and to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing

Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis
