Provide supervisory leadership to assigned Pipeline Line Patrollers. The successful candidate will be responsible for compliance with Company policies and procedures and State and Federal government regulations, development and management of O&M and Capital budgets, employee training and development, and an overview of administrative functions relevant to the Damage Prevention Supervisor position.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Damage Prevention function within the designated geographic area.
- Represent the Company during contacts with landowners/tenants, public officials and emergency officials or at local meetings (One Call encroachments, Emergency Responder and Excavator Training, Office of Emergency Management).
- Oversee land development, construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties within Company pipeline(s) buffer zones.
- Train and oversee Company and third party personnel to meet the Damage Prevention program requirements. These activities include pipeline locating, use of the One Call tracking system, and monitoring of construction in the vicinity of Company facilities.
- Complete the necessary governmental and compliance activities (OSHA, PHMSA, State Agencies).
- Identify and report Safety and Environmental concerns.
- Actively participate in the Company Safety program and other Company initiatives.
- Complete all applicable documentation and maintain records.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A two or four year college degree preferred; equivalent work experience in lieu of.
Experience and specific knowledge:
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the Company policies/procedures.
- Knowledge of government regulations relevant to Pipeline Operations.
- Prior supervisory experience highly desired.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the natural gas industry is beneficial and preferred.
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
- Possess and maintain a valid drivers’ license to meet the Company insurability requirements.
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
- Ability to plan, organize, document, prioritize, and complete work efficiently.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage personnel at multiple locations and with multiple tasks on a daily basis.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong commitment to Safety and actively participate in the Company safety program.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
- Intermediate computer skills (knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite). Experience with various operating systems and databases.
- Perform all work in compliance with Company standards and procedures, meet regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate performance and leadership toward a goal of Operational excellence.
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervision, keep required work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow established work practices.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available for responding to emergency situations 24/7
Preferred education, experience, competencies, skills, and abilities; above the minimum requirements, advantageous to this position:
- Development and management of O&M and Capital Budgets.
- Previous experience in supervising personnel with pipeline operations responsibilities and managing multiple tasks on a daily basis.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
The successful candidate will be required to, clear a drug screen and complete a background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
