The Newcastle & Hunter Region stands as one of Australia’s most vibrant and economically diverse regional centres, renowned for its strong community connections and strategic importance. This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the largest and most impactful teams within our Regional and Agribusiness Banking portfolio.

As Executive Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our business in this critical region. You’ll be responsible for driving commercial performance, strengthening our market presence, and reinforcing our reputation as a trusted financial partner to the community.

Your Team and Purpose

Our Regional and Agribusiness Banking team is deeply committed to supporting the ambitions of regional Australian businesses, and empowering customers to navigate complexity and unlock opportunity.

You will lead a high-performing team with a legacy of growth and success across sectors including Property, Health, Education, and Corporate Banking, with a proven track record of funding transformative expansion projects. As an experienced senior leader, you will foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and customer-centricity. You will be instrumental in enabling your team to deliver tailored financial solutions that support sustainable growth for customers operating throughout the Newcastle and Hunter region.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership to our Business Banking teams across Newcastle/Hunter Valley region
• Champion a high-performance culture through coaching, mentoring, and capability development.
• Identify and pursue growth opportunities in a rapidly evolving commercial landscape.
• Cultivate enduring client relationships and drive exceptional service delivery.
• Originate, structure, and negotiate complex financial solutions with precision and insight.
• Represent CommBank as a senior ambassador in the region, enhancing our brand and influence.

About You

You are a seasoned leader with a passion for regional business and a proven ability to inspire teams and deliver results. You bring:

• Deep expertise in business banking, credit, and risk.
• A track record of leading large, geographically dispersed teams.
• Exceptional commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
• A collaborative mindset and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or Commerce (highly regarded).
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
