As a Buyer/Planner, you will:

  • Use Planner Workbench to release new orders and reschedule orders to suppliers.
  • Manage product phase-ins and phase-outs.
  • Oversee purchase orders from creation to completion.
  • Implement material strategies with suppliers.
  • Set standard costs for purchased parts.
  • Lead procurement projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate returns to suppliers when necessary.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues.
  • Establish and support annual cost reduction and containment goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • BS or BA degree, APICS certification, or 5+ years of planning/purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MRP, JIT, and Kanban systems.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:
