Position Description

Manager, Marketing Operations & Agile Scrum Master

The Manager – Marketing Operations & Agile Scrum Master will play a key role in establishing and supporting Enterprise Marketing by enabling the Agile way of working. The ideal candidate will effectively create the environment to frequently deliver high-value / high-quality programs, improve collaboration, remove impediments, limit team distractions, and introduce new practices to drive efficiency, continuous improvement, and innovation. 

The ideal candidate will act as Scrum Master to multiple Marketing Sprint Teams supporting team members in applying Agile practices, frameworks, techniques, and behaviors to execute effectively and with quality. In addition, the individual will support the Marketing Operations function including strategy initiatives, process optimization, internal business reviews, and budget forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports adoption and consistent use of Agile techniques, tools, and standard practices to deliver high-quality, priority work; improve transparency; enhance collaboration; and increase efficiency.
  • Supports Marketing Operations leader with key initiatives including strategy planning, internal business reviews, budget planning/forecasting, procurement, and overall process optimization.
  • Facilitates Agile events, including standups, backlog refinement, retrospectives, sprint planning and reviews. Uses Scrum & Kanban techniques to visualize & manage the work, identify impediments, maintain WIP limits, and ensures the flow of work through the process.
  • Partners with Marketing Owners and other team members to drive improvement using a data-driven approach focused on experimentation and ensures teams are actively seeking out opportunities for improvement through retrospectives & sprint planning.
  • Manages the Agile boards (Scrum and Kanban) to ensure stories are up to date and project management tool, Jira, is working well. 
  • Understands team(s) capacity by tracking metrics that enable predictability and creates conditions for the team to effectively plan and deliver.
  • Coaches, mentors and trains team members on Agile practices, processes, and behaviors while remaining flexible and open to opportunities for the team to improve workflow; actively communicates learnings with Enterprise Marketing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, information systems, systems analysis, or innovation
  • Minimum 3 years as a dedicated Scrum Master or Agile Coach. Agile Marketing experience preferred. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile values, principles, methodologies, specifically Scrum & Kanban frameworks
  • Experience working in large, matrixed, complex organizations.
  • Experience with Marketing Operations or with a Marketing department in campaign/product/solution development or innovation is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile project management tools, i.e., Jira.
  • Technically savvy.
  • Experience in organizational excellence and optimization of standards and processes. Previous experience working on Agile marketing transformations is a plus.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, presentation (written and verbal), influencing and process facilitation skills.
  • Results-oriented; high sense of urgency and energy.
  • A true team player, who is passionate about Agile and Marketing.
  • Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org certified (Professional Scrum – PSM I, II or III or Certified, Advanced Certified or Professional Scrum) is a plus.
  • Knowledge or certification of agile scaling frameworks (LeSS, SAFe, NEXUS, DA, Portfolio Kanban, etc.) is a plus.

Role is Hybrid out of an ADP Office.

The US base salary range targeted for this job is listed in the compensation section below. Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions.

The salary range for this role is $70,100 – $142,200/Year
