The Opportunity

As a Field Service Engineer within the Abbott Molecular Division, you will play a key role in delivering best-in-class service to our customers. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting molecular diagnostic instruments and software systems across Finland and occasionally in other Nordic countries. This role requires strong technical skills, customer focus, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Install and implement new systems at customer sites
  • Perform preventative maintenance, hardware/software upgrades, and repair interventions
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and application issues via phone and on-site visits
  • Provide customer training on software and hardware upgrades
  • Collaborate closely with Application Support Specialists and Commercial teams
  • Participate in service summits, expert meetings, and internal workshops
  • Provide primary service within assigned territory and backup support as needed
  • Maintain tools, accessories, and spare parts inventory according to procedures
  • Document service activities in the call management system
  • Represent Abbott professionally and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams

Your Profile

  • Diploma or university degree in a relevant technical or scientific discipline
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in field service or a related customer-facing technical role
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Fluent in Finnish and English (verbal and written); additional Nordic language skills are an asset
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Finland and across the Nordics
  • Experience with electromechanical systems and software-controlled instruments is a plus
