About the Internship
As our new Analytical Sciences Intern, you will be part of the Analytical Chemistry Team in the Life Sciences & Digital Health department of Danone Nutricia Research. This team focuses on support of the research programs by developing and executing quantitative analysis in a wide range of sample matrix for the future Danone portfolio. The target of this internship project is to develop a method using Spectrophotometric enzyme assay. This will be compared with the current LC method (HPAEC-PAD). This method needs to be capable to quantity larger series of samples in a short time to upstream efficiency. Finally, the method will be applied to analyze these compounds in different matrices such as ferments, milk and feces. You will start with a literature review and use the outcome of this to design your own experimental setup including the work method.

You are enrolled in the University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Utrecht) in Chemistry, with practical laboratory experience and a strong interest in the interaction between food and analytics. You are hands on and able to work autonomously in a complex and fast-paced work environment, act proactively, and effectively communicate with different stakeholders (both technical and non-technical). You have strong analytical skills, creative thinking, and a ‘can do’ mindset.
