What you will do

• The qualified candidate will run a route servicing existing fire extinguisher and emergency light accounts, in addition to service and installation of pre-engineered and engineered special hazard fire suppression systems. Examples of fire systems included in this definition are kitchen hoods, automotive paint spray booths, data centers, fueling depots, heavy equipment (mining, manufacturing), power generation, etc.
• Up sell those customers needing products and services to meet compliance with current fire codes.
• Sell new accounts on the route based on the same compliance criteria.
• Complete all necessary paperwork as needed and meet deadlines set for paperwork to be turned into the district.

How you will do it

• Maintain your weekly, monthly and annual quota as set forth by the Manager. Comply with all customer service obligations as set forth by the manager and all company policies as set forth by the department, district, and Johnson Controls. Perform all other duties as set forth by the Manager. This may include but is not limited to assisting other districts, shop, installation and marine work.

• Positive attitude, self-motivated, strong organizational and communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, skilled trade experience and/or education a plus. (Plumbing, Electrical, and mechanical skills sets are all helpful in this line of work.)
• Ability to safely climb and work off of ladders, as well as safely work with hand and power tools.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Have the ability to manage a route servicing existing and new customers’ fire protection equipment.
• Work flexible and on call hours when necessary.
• Scheduling with customers and/or AHJs.
• Maintain stock of materials as needed.
• Completing professional paperwork as required.
• Computer skills and a good understanding of building codes and regulations.
• Ability to obtain and retain a security license as necessary and other appropriate certifications and/or licenses.
• Attend all required training and/or meetings
• Have a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• 18 Years of age or older.
• Ability to lift up to 70 Lbs.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug test.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Preferred

• Experience with the service and sales of fire extinguishers and/or other suppression products preferred.
• Have the ability to work with their hands and possess mechanical skills. Some fire suppression industry experience preferred but not necessary.
• Possess or ability to obtain MA Certificate of Competence and or RI Certificate of Competency.
• General background working with fire protection and life safety devices preferred.
• Positive attitude, self-motivated, strong organizational and communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Customer Service/Sales experience
