Responsibilities:

Campus & Event Management

- Oversee day to day activities of campus to ensure Galvanize delivers an exceptional, consistent experience for all our student, entrepreneurial and partner members

- Address escalated issues as they arise, and notify General Manager as necessary. Hold and lead daily or weekly meetings with staff to foster an environment of open communication and excellence

- Lead the Facilities Manager to ensure campus is well maintained and in good working order

- Work closely with the Facilities Manager to manage and set expectations with outside vendors, to deliver on excellence, while maximizing revenue and optimizing cost. Work closely with the Cafe team to ensure cafe functions as an exceptional amenity for our members

- Work closely with the Events Manager to ensure event planning, facilitation, marketing, and execution is of the highest caliber

- Lead the Events Manager to ensure events delivers on student lead and revenue goals

- Lead Community Coordinators to ensure hospitality and customer service is delivered to every guest, student, member and partner

- Work closely with Program Director to ensure hospitality and customer service is delivered to every student member and alumni member to support educational programming and events

- Perform duties in all aspects of campus operations whenever needed

Member Service & Support

- Maximize member NPS through leadership, program implementation and delivering on a culture of outstanding hospitality

- Work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure campus is in excellent working order, and amenities are promptly delivered to members & students as expected

- Regularly connect with internal stakeholders to build and maintain hospitality and event success metrics, as well as identify future opportunities

Financial

- Maximize revenue and minimize costs to meet or exceed assigned budgets

- Prepare campus operations budget, forecasting and can explain all budget variances

- Monitor collection of cafe, event and other income, account receivables and accounts payable

- Monitor operations purchases to ensure they are within budget

Sales & Marketing

- Work with appropriate headquarters leadership to manage and grow all campus event sales, including events that drive student and member leadsWork with General Manager, Program Director and Events Manager to manage and grow ‘high conversion’ events & programming for immersive and part time students

- Establish and manage key relationships to build membership community and partnerships

- Coordinate sales and marketing activities for the campus

- Work with appropriate stakeholders to target events that drive leads, support our members and create revenue opportunities

- Work with Cafe team to ensure cafe is profitable

Employee Management

- Conduct regular meetings and weekly one on one direct reports: Community Coordinators (1), Facilities Managers (3), Event Managers (2)

- Coach and mentor campus operations team to provide direction and inspiration

- Manage the recruiting and onboarding for campus operations staff

- Coordinate training and leadership with HQ leadership and ensure all team members are adequately trained and managed

Facilities Management/Physical Campus Appearance

- Ensure campus is well maintained, clean and the overall appearance is welcoming and inviting to all members and their guests

- Work with Facilities Manager and appropriate stakeholders to establish facilities maintenance and CapEx budget

Startup & Community Engagement

- Drive and support the Galvanize brand within the startup community and enterprise partners

- Attend events, meet-ups and other relationship building opportunities to support and expand startup networkLeverage relationships and network to grow campus revenue

Qualifications:

- 4+ years of experience in managing, launching or scaling a business

- 4+ years of experience in managing a team

- 4 year college degree required

- Steady presence in a group setting, able to facilitate communication, and models solid judgment

- Expert at guiding expectation setting, supporting a growth mindset culture, and practicing active listening

- Ability to distinguish and decide when to act on intuition and emotional intelligence and when to use hard data

- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and strong attention to detail

- Prior financial management experience and working knowledge of financial statements

- Previous hospitality-related industry a plus

- Passionate about working with tech startups and educationEstablished tech/startup network
