Software Test Engineer

Analyzes business and technical requirements and translates them into software specifications and testing requirements

Responsible for managing, developing and executing test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. Involved in test planning, writing test cases, test case automation and execution. 

Understands business systems, processes and dependencies across the PCA domain and grows to be considered a subject matter specialist within the domain


  • Participates in team Agile ceremonies
  • A regular advocate of Agile practices
  • An active voice in design and planning discussions
  • Participates in project planning to ensure the QA activities become part of the plan and the overall software development process
  • Creates project level test plans to ensure all aspects of testing are covered
    • Ensures the responsibility for “Sign Off” on the quality of the project is understood and defined
  • Participates in story grooming sessions to ensure acceptance criteria and test scenarios are identified and defined early in the process
    • Including Edge cases that need to be covered
  • Creates acceptance test cases to cover user experience scenarios
    • Develops and maintains Acceptance test cases
    • Develops and maintains the suite of regression tests
      • Executes regression tests through third party cross browser testing tool for selected OS, device, and browser version before a release goes to production
  • Track Stories that are moved “to ready for acceptance”
    • Measure number of stories succeeded on 1st attempt
    • Measure number of stories that failed and number of attempts


  • Experience of creating project level test plans
  • Knowledge of unit testing, code coverage, integration testing, regression testing, and white/grey/black box testing
  • Experience of creating automated testing environments
  • Familiar with agile grooming sessions and an advocate of agile practices
  • Strong communication skills, including in English
