We are looking for a client-focused Petroleum Engineer to join our Customer Success team in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This role is designed for an outgoing, proactive professional with a strong technical background who thrives on engaging directly with stakeholders while driving successful technology adoption and account growth.
The right candidate will combine Reservoir engineering expertise with exceptional interpersonal and project management skills, ensuring seamless client delivery, workflow definition, and tangible value creation from Tachyus technologies.
Role Scope
This position is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a focus on supporting local clients and occasional travel across Latin America for workshops, project deployments, and technology adoption. The role goes beyond technical implementation: it includes account ownership, growth strategy, and client engagement to maximize long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Delivery
- Act as the primary technical and client-facing representative for assigned accounts.
- Define, implement, and monitor workflows to ensure successful adoption and measurable results from Tachyus technologies.
- Deliver petrotechnical insights and reservoir engineering expertise in client meetings, workshops, and training.
- Ensure timely delivery of all project materials: models, workflows, dashboards, results presentations, and training documentation.
Account Growth & Upsell
- Own the account growth strategy, identifying upsell opportunities, and expanding project scope through strong client relationships.
- Proactively identify and articulate client needs, transforming them into tangible technology implementations in collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Research teams.
- Drive customer renewals by ensuring technology adoption plans are executed and value is clearly demonstrated.
Project Management
- Manage client projects end-to-end, covering scheduling, task tracking, delivery milestones, and stakeholder communication.
- For larger accounts, collaborate closely with designated Project Managers while maintaining accountability for technical delivery.
- Escalate risks or delays proactively, ensuring stakeholders are informed and mitigations are in place.
Requirements
- Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with flexibility for regional travel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering / Geoscience with 5+ years of reservoir engineering experience.
- Strong reservoir modeling and simulation skills with proven project delivery experience.
- Experience in client-facing roles (service companies, consultancies, or technology providers).
- Familiarity with reservoir management, forecasting, and ALS/production optimization workflows and practices.
- Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English; able to explain complex workflows clearly to clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills, outgoing, and client-oriented personality.
- Project management experience or aptitude; comfortable owning timelines, deliverables, and client engagement.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence is a plus (for reporting, project tracking, and customer management).
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Knowledge of programming (SQL, Python) and data analytics is a plus.
- Strong data analysis skills are an advantage.
