Combine that with a pioneering spirit at making a positive impact on brands, society, and each other, and you’ll soon realise why we’re at the forefront of the digital economy and championing meaningful change to disrupt the status quo.

What your role and typical day might look like

As our “on the ground” Senior Marketing Executive, you will have remit across our end-to-end marketing approach externally, and ownership of comms internally. As such, you’ll possess a full understanding of the modern landscape of the marketing mix and communication channels to best represent dentsu Aotearoa to drive change and brand initiatives inside and out. Of course, you’ll have support from our Australian colleagues for strategy, guidance and input, but you’re tasked with working alongside of local leaders to put a local spin on campaigns to make it relevant and engaging for our people and audiences.

This is a diverse role with a large amount of business partnering and stakeholder management involved. You will help to develop, execute and report back on growth initiatives and strategy for the dentsu Aotearoa group, using various marketing channels at your disposal, including full campaign management. This includes utilisation of digital channels (such as SEM, SEO, EDM, and paid social) and activations to build our brand as a top tier advertising and customer experience agency, and also an employer of choice.

Responsibilities include

  • Take full ownership of deliverables across brand, content, marketing and digital marketing for dentsu, partnering closely with New Zealand SLT and ANZ Marketing & Comms teams.
  • Identify growth opportunities across the dentsu Aotearoa capabilities, coming up with innovative plans to develop new lead and sales opportunities from ideas into reality.
  • Build brand awareness, consideration, preference and key brand metrics, while supporting our marketing acquisition and retention targets across the Aotearoa marketplace.
  • Collaborate alongside both Marketing and Communications teams to execute strategies for the New Zealand market, coming up with and managing world class campaigns.
  • Contribute and deliver on our internal communication plans, bringing our people on journey as the business evolves with new ways of working, values and capabilities as one dentsu.
  • Using your creative muscles, apply a people and customer centric approach to all touchpoints, ensuring best practice and a consistent brand experience is delivered across all online, offline, partnerships and event marketing channels at your disposal.
  • Ensure the consistent production of artwork, content, marketing collateral and copywriting to promote our brand across all channels.
  • Ownership of local marketing budget and investments, utilising a mix of channels to build impactful, measurable and deliverable KPI’s and ROI’s for now and future growth channels.

A bit about you

  • At least 3 years’ experience in global organisation in a Marketing Executive or Manager role delivering end to end campaigns, ideally in an advertising agency or professional services/consulting environment but this is not essential.
  • A good understanding of the local New Zealand marketing mix/channels available to you, in particular digital, with a proven ability to delivery strategic and growth outcomes for a brand.
  • Ability to influence and navigate complex global organisations to get the right outcomes to execute local strategy into broader regional and global initiatives using an evidence-based approach.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and project management skills, able to pull people along on a journey, manage change and deliver end to end marketing campaigns in line with budget and agreed timeframes.
  • Exceptional English language and writing skills, as you’ll be responsible for copy writing, managing internal communications, thought leadership pieces and brand building activities.
  • A critical thinker and problem solver, ability to partner with leaders to propose solutions and challenge the status quo where appropriate.
  • Basic Adobe Photoshop/InDesign and CMS skills preferrable.
