Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Working closely with internal stakeholders (eg procurement peers, Marketing, Engineering or Quality) and external suppliers mainly located in Asia and Pacific (APAC) region to develop and implement strategic commodity plans at the lowest total cost (TCO). This includes contribution of procurement strategy with the Global Commodity Manager on Medical OEMs and Supplies/Accessories for both manufacturing and Service (spare parts). Accountability for overall supplier relationship management including long term assurance of supply, supplier performance and information/data management.

You are responsible for

  • Manage a portfolio of 20M€ spend on Medical OEMs and Supplies/Accessories
  • Build and maintain a preferred supply base for the assigned scope
  • Facilitate in/outsourcing decisions from a TCO point of view
  • Lead Supplier performance evaluation
  • Drive contract and price negotiations
  • Gather relevant benchmark data, supply market intelligence information
  • Lead or participate in the Scouting, RFQ generation and supplier selection process
  • Apply continuous improvement of processes & technologies to support materials & service
  • Contribute to supplier risk identification/assessment and propose mitigation plan
  • Ensures compliance to Procurement Policy
  • Support Quality Team regarding supplier Quality assurance document collection

You are a part of

Part of the Global Commodity Management Team. Direct report to the Global Commodity Manager FGM-M&V. The location is China (preference Suzhou).

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master degree (Business administration or Engineering)
  • Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in dynamic context, medical industry is a plus
  • Mature personality and strong commercial sense
  • Humble, assertive with high integrity
  • Recognized for Leadership/influencing skills
  • Ability to work in a Global matrix environment
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, mainly southern China region
