Advanced EMT - JOB SUMMARY
The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) provides pre-hospital 911 emergency care and transport of sick and injured patients by ambulance as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Graduate of an Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) training program. A Physician, Physician Assistant or Registered Nurse may be considered if candidate holds a license supported by Department of Health Services Physician, Physician Assistant, and Registered Nurse Equivalency Application.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Demonstrated proficiency with administering complex treatment, maintaining composure under pressure, and communicating to individuals in stressful situations. Proficient with reading, writing and speaking English.
Preferred/Optional: Proficient with reading, writing and speaking in alternate languages.

EMT - JOB SUMMARY
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) assumes responsibility for individual professional actions and judgments, during both independent and dependent emergency functions. The EMT functions independently while applying the usual skills of the certified EMT in an ambulance setting. Advanced EMT skills in the ambulance setting are under the direction of a physician.
