Client Directors are part of Cogito’s newly created strategic accounts group, formed to develop business within high-value accounts across 4 target industries.  Reporting directly to the Vice President of Strategic Accounts, Client Directors are charged with extending Cogito’s position in assigned accounts, providing strategic vision, tactical execution and leadership necessary to drive business growth, increase adoption and market share.

The position requires frequent travel, substantial direct contact with senior management and executives within assigned strategic accounts, and the ability to build and leverage strong interpersonal business relations within Cogito and the customer organization.

As the Client Director, you are the face of Cogito to the account.  The gatekeeper for all Cogito functions that come together as part of the account team in pursuit of the account.  While you are not responsible for executing the work of each respective functional team member, you are accountable for organizing their involvement, managing the interaction and otherwise ensuring their successful delivery and acceptance by the account.


  • Prospect and develop opportunities to partner with key stakeholders to envision, develop and implement a AI/EQ/Behavior Change strategy for their organization
  • Articulate the strength and value proposition of Cogito positioning Cogito as a long-term supplier and business partner advancing the mission of the account
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities for business growth
  • Utilize experience in consultative sales to help customers leverage Cogito to achieve their business goals
  • Develop and deploy strategic account plans for assigned accounts that clearly delineate business goals and growth strategies for each
  • Develop and maintain detailed working knowledge of accounts within portfolio, key business drivers, key business stakeholder’s business models and the competitive landscape
  • Understand the customer decision-making processes and constraints – time, budget, relationships, etc
  • Understand your customers’ budgeting and acquisition processes
  • Execute the account management process including account prioritization, account resourcing, and account planning
  • Execute the sales process for all opportunities
  • Leverage cross-divisional resources to define and execute an account strategy
  • Work cross departmentally throughout Cogito to position opportunities for maximum business and operational success – marketing, product and services
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to improve processes and troubleshoot account issues
  • Manage and solve conflicts within account
  • Position each opportunity for maximum profitability
  • Prepare business cases to support CRO’s conversations and negotiation of business terms
  • Build market awareness and recognition for Cogito, successfully positioning Cogito strategy, vision and market leadership with key business executives and functional decision-makers within assigned accounts and across your portfolio
  • Demonstrate a thoughtful understanding of insightful industry knowledge and how Cogito/AI/EQ/BC applies to initiatives, trends, and triggers
  • Understand the Cogito product and assume responsibility as the single point of information and messaging for product changes, upgrades, roadmap – knowing that you will leverage internal Cogito resources


  • Proven ability to build multiple relationships at all levels with assigned accounts
  • Experience in managing the sales cycle including prospecting, proposing, and closing
  • Ability to adapt to new technology trends and translate them into solutions that address customer needs
  • Experience building strong partnerships and advocacy with customers
  • Excellent presentation, white boarding, and negotiation skills including good listening, probing, and qualification abilities
  • Experience executing insight selling methodologies
  • Strategic thinking with a global orientation, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to execute in complex situations at the tactical level
  • Strong writing and verbal communication/presentation skills, excellent use of the English language, and the ability to gain respect of and influence management team, board members, the customer, and personnel at all levels
  • Understanding of the dynamics of high-growth companies, the ability to work effectively in a demanding, challenging and rapidly changing environment
