Description and Requirements

To further strength company’s compliance program in trade area, we are seeking trade compliance classification and program profession with substantial export control experience to take up China export control compliance responsibility based in Beijing.

Job Responsibilities (Essential functions and duties):

  • To design and implement corporate export compliance policies and procedures;
  • Perform China Export Control Number (ECN) Classification and determine the license requirement under China Export Control Regulations
  • Determine strategy for China Export Control License application
  • Monitor China Export Control of Technology and Software Transfer
  • Support global ECCN classification for China origin products, software and technology
  • Support the building of a trade program that accounts for global trade regulatory requirements for R&D, AI, semiconductor, software, datacenter, and cloud computing
  • Monitor China Export Control and Anti-foreign Sanction regulations development and compliance requirement
  • Monitor Cross-border data transfer in relation to Export Control Audit

Job Requirements – Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies (KSAC’s):

  • Knowledgeable of U.S, China and Hong Kong export control and sanctions laws, regulations and practice
  • Understand the China Export Classification (ECN) and ECCN and Export License Determination
  • Understand the compliance requirements of China’s cross-border technology transfer and cybersecurity
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Chinese and English;
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork spirit are required;
  • Ability to monitor complex program under multitasking requirements.

Job Requirements – Prior Work Experience

  • 12+ years experience in compliance areas in reputable law firm or well-known multi-national companies with minimum 6-year experience in relation to export control

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree of Law, Economics or Engineering is required.
  • Master/JD in Common Law jurisdiction is preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • 10-15%
