SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking a Recruitment & Talent Engagement Manager who will positively impact student success by ensuring candidates remain connected throughout the hiring process while coordinating recognition and engagement initiatives that celebrate IPS staff. This role combines candidate-facing responsibilities with the coordination of storytelling, recognition, and social media engagement, supporting the district’s goal of attracting and retaining excellent educators.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- You’ll strategically manage and enhance our existing plan to attract and retain exceptional talent across our district, prioritizing our most in-demand roles.
- You’ll set exciting goals for engaging with candidates and connecting with them, always aiming for the best results.
- You’ll keep an eye on who's applying and proactively reach out to candidates to make sure they're still interested and get placed in the right spots quickly, especially for schools and jobs that are harder to fill.
- You’ll organize fun ways to celebrate TeamIPS and highlight their awesome contributions, helping everyone feel like they belong and making IPS an even better place to work.
- You’ll manage our social media presence, like the "Proving What's Possible" channel, to share genuine stories from TeamIPS, show off their achievements, and spread the word about great job opportunities.
- You’ll help bring authentic stories to life by finding and sharing experiences from IPS staff and teachers, and using content created by our "Proving What's Possible" Teacher Ambassadors to showcase our vibrant culture.
- You’ll collaborate with members of the Human Resources and Professional Learning teams to help plan and coordinate important events, like the New Staff Induction Mixer and the Hiring Season Kickoff.
- You’ll be a key player in planning and coordinating networking mixer events throughout the year, creating opportunities for connection and community building.
- You’ll use data to monitor engagement and recognition efforts using key metrics to see what’s working and how we can keep getting better.
- You will also undertake other duties as assigned to support the team's objectives.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experience in recruitment, HR, communications, or related fields preferred.
- Experience in a school system is a plus but not required.
FLSA CLASSIFICATION:
Exempt
ELIGIBILITY FOR REMOTE WORK:
While this position is primarily based in the office or requires onsite presence at schools, limited remote work may be permitted on an occasional basis, subject to supervisor approval.

Curious what a typical day might look like? As our Recruitment & Talent Engagement Manager, you could find yourself:
- Reviewing applicant lists in the hiring platform and reaching out to candidates to confirm interest and availability for high-need roles.
- Connecting with a Human Resources Business Partner to identify schools experiencing hiring challenges and coordinating candidate outreach or follow-up support.
- Crafting and scheduling posts for the Proving What’s Possible Instagram channel, featuring Ambassador stories, recognition highlights, and updates on hiring opportunities.
- Meeting with Teacher Ambassadors to plan an upcoming story feature and coaching them on capturing authentic narratives from their schools.
- Drafting a recognition spotlight for an honoree, ensuring alignment with IPS branding and district values.
- Collaborating with the Communications & Engagement team to schedule posts that celebrate staff achievements and highlight IPS culture.
- Working alongside other members of TeamIPS to coordinate logistics for a variety of important engagement and networking events, such as the New Staff Induction Mixer, Hiring Season Kickoff, and other networking mixers.
- Tracking candidate touchpoints and recognition engagement data, compiling a quick report on trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Feeling a sense of accomplishment as you see a newly-hired member of TeamIPS share their positive recruitment and hiring experience.
