A day in the life

We are and looking for a self-motivated Senior Architect II that has experience working with Finance & Enterprise data and will lead our data and integration design for the FDH team. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with multiple technical and business team, designing data warehouse solutions for the FDH team that best support our organization. The Senior Architect II partners with delivery teams to architect, design, and build flexible, scalable, and resilient applications and services that can more easily adapt to future business needs. You will be viewed as a strong technical leader with data architecture, data modeling, and engineering skills. Your background will include a proven track record of leading and scaling data engineering teams, strong communication and collaborative skills, product ownership, and a strong vision for how data can inform business strategy.

  • Provide input and thought leadership on the use of shared models, re-usable architecture, and implementation implications
  • Designing Data & Analytics solutions leveraging Azure/Snowflake/Power BI stack from many source systems, preferably including EPM & EBS data sources or similar systems
  • Drive our team forward by researching and recommending new technologies that will help our business in their growing appetite for data and analytic capabilities
  • Lead effort to develop technical standards to support and operate technologies within the current or future Microsoft Azure system platform
  • Creation of Technical Specifications, Design Documents, and Data Mapping - keeping in mind the best practices and principles of integration design and architecture
  • Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications including defining data collection and database schema requirements
  • Work with cross-functional teams to help define master data management governance rules within a data mesh enterprise environment
  • Provide high level T-shirt estimates to support project costing and timelines
  • Create and maintain detailed solution design for the approved projects and initiatives
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in developing analytical insights including data integrity, analysis, test design, validation, and documentation
  • Proactively promotes data quality and security through recommended approaches and practices
  • Be instrumental in identifying direction of technology skill set required for Lululemon, ultimately influencing the hiring of exceptionally talented team of engineers
  • Lead Capacity Planning and Management activities to ensure that Data & Integrations will be able to scale with the growing business
  • Provide strong technical leadership and mentor our team of Data Engineers

Qualifications

  • Hands-on knowledge and understanding of Snowflake (Warehouse, Streams, Task, Data Shares etc.) as well as Oracle EBS & EPM or similar systems
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and 3+ years in a senior role
  • 7+ years of experience building data pipelines using Microsoft Azure tools and services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob, Azure Databricks, etc)
  • Preferred experience in Oracle integration tools like Oracle Data Integrator & Oracle Golden Gate
  • 2+ years of experience with Python and/or PySpark
  • Technical understanding of data modelling, data mapping, and data integration with a cross-functional mindset
  • Demonstrated expertise with message brokers such as Kafka and containerization tooling such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Demonstrated expertise with delivering end-to-end data products to business stakeholders (from source integration to reporting roll-out)
  • Strong experience with business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices including multi-dimensional modelling (star schemas, snowflakes, de-normalized models, handling “slow-changing” dimensions)
  • Experience with the BI / DW lifecycle components including source data analysis, ETL, ODS, DataMarts, Reporting, Dashboards, and Analytics
  • Good understanding and experience of real-time analytics, data stores, data modelling, data management, analytic tools, and languages
  • Extensive data analysis skills with strengths in drilling into underlying databases for discovery and troubleshooting
  • Experience in working in Agile teams and working independently with Business stakeholders providing solutions and regular updates
  • Team player, motivated to learn new technologies, and able to grasp concepts and technologies quickly with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to build pilot solutions and proof-of-concepts with minimal direction

Compensation and Benefits Package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $148,000 - 194,300annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
