Job Overview:

Under direction of the Vice President, Human Resources, leads the HR Business Partner and Employee Relations functions to include setting strategic direction for the functions, aligning individual performance goals, providing general guidance, and individual coaching to direct reports. Ensures that HRBP and Employee Relations work is aligned with Airport's strategic goals. Monitors department's performance to service level agreements (SLA), investigates misses to published SLAs, and addresses root causes. Through HR Business Partners and peer relationships, maintains the pulse of internal customers to ensure HR is delivering the appropriate level of service to the business. Assists managers and employees with interpreting and complying with airport policies and applicable employment law. Provides consultation and support in all aspects of Human Resources (HR) including employee relations, talent management, total rewards, employee engagement, organizational development, and workforce diversity and inclusion.

What you will be doing:

  • Leads, motivates, and develops a team of HR professionals to provide strategic and tactical support with for People initiatives and programs in support of organizational objectives.
  • Analyze trends and develop proactive interventions for employee relations and engagement issues.
  • Oversees development of Affirmative Action Plans, availability and utilization analysis, and all workforce demographic reports to ensure DFW Airport is maintaining a talented and diverse workforce.
  • Guides HRBP or Employee Relations team members through sensitive issues while ensuring confidentiality and fairness to all parties involved.
  • Coaches business unit managers and supervisors on all aspects of HR issues.
  • Coordinates the Ethics Hotline for Airport; responds to issues raised by employees and management.
  • Provides contract related financial information to auditors, bonding companies, suppliers, inspectors, sub-contractors, contractors, and other Board staff upon request, based on approval of department management.
  • Conducts research of new and pending legislation and laws relating to HR programs; ensures that business unit HR-related and employment practices are following federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Coordinates the Ethics Hotline for Airport; responds to issues raised by employees and management.
  • Conducts research of new and pending legislation and laws relating to HR programs; ensures that business unit HR-related and employment practices are following federal and state laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Supervises investigations and makes recommendations to management to resolve general, harassment and discrimination complaints. Responds to inquiries from EEOC and TCHR.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with significant coursework in human resources, business or public administration or a related field.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of related professional-level experience leading a Human Resources department.
  • Four (4) years of experience administering contracts or the payment provisions thereof.
  • Degree requirement may be substituted by increasingly responsible, professional-level HR experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Possession of a valid class C driver's license.
