Finance Manager - Jewelry

ABOUT YOU:

This role provides finance/accounting support to the sales leadership of the jewelry line.

YOU HAVE:

  • Technical skills. Broad knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook etc. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify and implement process improvements. Preferred experience with Microsoft Access, Tableau, SAP BPC, and Oracle financial applications. 
  • Attention to detail. Ability to plan, organize and see projects to completion while managing deadlines. Ability to identify problem areas, determine the best alternatives for improvement and coordinate the required efforts with division personnel as needed. 
  • Great communication skills. Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability to work effectively with all levels and function in the organization. Strong leadership skills, project management and communication skills. 
  • Experience. 6 - 8 years related experience.
  • Education. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance. Preferred MBA, CPA, CMA. 

YOU WILL:

  • Manage. Manage and develop staff (1-2 Direct Reports). Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel.
  • Support. Prepare P&L’s by working directly with Sales Management and product and marketing teams. Work product includes weekly sales indicators, weekly dashboards to report performance of key sales growth drivers, financial analysis for new product development, pricing strategies and other strategic decision making.
  • Oversee and audit Scholastic, College and International commission incentive programs, price modeling and finance support for growth initiatives within the Jewelry businesses.. 
  • Lead. Accounting and control functions relating to sales of product lines. This encompasses 3 different sales forces (Scholastic 230 reps, College 40 reps, International 20 reps) totaling more than $100M in sales. Sales, Commissions, Margins and Pricing for these divisions are significantly influenced by this position. Balance sheet, deposits, policies and processes are owned within the group. 
  • Typical/expected % of overnight travel: 0 - 5 %
