As an experienced Data Scientist (f/m/d), you will be at the forefront of establishing our Data Science function and delivering key contributions to BMG’s overarching advanced analytics agenda. In close collaboration with business stakeholders and our data team, you will design advanced analytics models to provide actionable insights, introduce predictive analytics cross-functionally and globally implement AI and machine learning projects with strategic business impact. Your Tasks 

  • Demonstrate conceptual thought leadership regarding the feasibility of various ML (machine learning) and selected AI initiatives (including generative AI) with strategic business impact
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and management to deliver business objectives via scalable, robust data science solutions
  • Develop advanced statistical / ML models, to extract meaningful insights from large data sets
  • Conduct EDA, feature engineering, and model evaluation to ensure robust and accurate models (e.g. to forecast revenue, predict music consumer demand and spot talents early to guide investments, A&R and marketing; hypothesis testing and causal analysis; semantic analysis of audio and text content)
  • Provide training to junior team members and suggest best practices to scale an effective and efficient data science function

Your Skillset 

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or similar fields 
  • Demonstrable, extensive experience of delivering commercially beneficial data science / ML / AI solutions
  • Expert in Python and SQL
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis, statistical modeling, ML/AI frameworks and data manipulation tools
  • Experience with implementing LLMs (large language models)
  • Prior music industry exposure and experience working with dbt, git, GCP and/or Looker is a strong plus

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, confident to present findings to senior management
