Statement of Purpose/Project:

Genscape is seeking part time student researchers who would like to join our growing European Power team based in Amsterdam city center.

We are looking for individuals who have already started their degree and are driven, intellectually curious and passionate. Genscape has an unwavering focus on their people and ensures employees have excellent opportunity to learn and grow within the business.

The hours will be by agreement, but with a minimum full 1 day per week. You must be looking for an immediate start, and on-going work throughout your degree.

Your day to day:

The successful candidate will join our research team to help drive and build upon a successful power forecasting platform and product.

This role is an opportunity to help expand and improve our platform's database of power plant, interconnection, hydro, and renewables, and to work on our scenario analysis system.

You must like puzzling to find the correct answer and pride yourself on working accurately and methodically.

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong research skills, with an interest in the Power industry.
  • Detail oriented, organized approach.
  • Ability to synthesize data from a variety of sources quickly and efficiently, often assimilating facts from prior events.
  • Ability to execute in a highly deadline driven environment required.
  • Good knowledge of Excel required
  • Strong quantitative and analytic capabilities, a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and preferably one other European language

Education and Experience:

This is a great opportunity for students in the Energy Science and Technology Masters program. Students of other quantitative subjects also considered (sciences, mathematics, economics) but a background in power generation is a big plus.
