Harvard University’s Faculty of Divinity seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Spiritual Care. The successful candidate will hold a PhD or ThD at time of appointment, be well-versed in both the theoretical and practical literature of the field, have an active publishing agenda, and be equipped to contribute to the collective life and curriculum of a multireligious divinity school. The Faculty is interested in applicants who, while possibly identifying with a particular tradition, can work effectively throughout our ministry program—which serves students preparing for ministerial vocations in Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and other contexts—as well as contribute to Harvard Divinity School’s commitments to justice and healing related to ethnic, gender, racial, religious, and sexual difference. Especially welcome are candidates whose pedagogy is enriched by experience in chaplaincy or community care.

The successful candidate will teach primarily in the Master of Divinity program but will also serve students in the Master of Theological Studies and the Master of Religion and Public Life programs. In addition to students in the Divinity School, the successful candidate will teach undergraduates and doctoral students in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and other faculties at Harvard.

This is a five-year renewable position.
