Regional HR Manager, West Africa

About the role

Are you passionate about creating meaningful change and helping people thrive? At AAK, we’re searching for a dynamic and collaborative Regional HR Manager to lead our HR team and activities in West Africa. If you’re inspired by working in a fast-moving, international environment and want to make a real difference, this could be the next step in your career!

As Regional HR Manager you will lead a team of four competent, engaged and motivated HR Business Partners across the region in respectively Ghana, Benin, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast. Furthermore, you will be a valued member of the regional leadership team. You will be accountable for driving a people centric HR agenda and ensuring strategy, organizational performance and people come together at a higher level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of HR Business Partners across the West Africa (WAF) region, helping both our people and our business grow.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify staffing needs and develop innovative strategies for recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent.
  • Drive and implement HR projects and initiatives for the region, including compensation and benefits, performance management, talent planning, and more.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with our Group HR, leadership team, and colleagues to turn strategic business plans into action.
  • Foster organizational development by leading change-management initiatives and nurturing our unique company culture.
  • Bring passion, collaboration, agility, and accountability to everything you do!

About you

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Economics, Human Resources, or Organizational Psychology.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role in a international HR environment, including spearheading strategic HR concepts and managing complex projects.
  • Excellent English and French language skills.
  • Strong understanding of digital HR tools and platforms, and a keen eye for driving process automation.
  • Experience in fast-paced, matrix organizations—entrepreneurial spirit a big plus!
  • A collaborative, consultative leadership style and strong interpersonal and coaching skills are a must.
