PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Assistant Shop Foreman provide assistance in supervision and coordination of work for Fleet Technicians. Performs repair and maintenance work at advanced level on school buses and other automotive system equipment. The employee’s schedule and activities, coordinate with the Shop Supervisor, and is set to meet established plans, objectives, and goals. Must be able to assume control of the shop if no other leadership is present and direct the work of subordinate employees.

Preferred: Completion of Vocational or Technical school automotive training program
Commercial driver’s license with school bus and passenger endorsement within 90 days of employment.

Incumbents will be considered “at will.” Appropriate pay will be determined based on Grade 110 and allowable experience as determined by Human Resources. This is a 250-workday position. This position contributes to the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia (TRS).
