Job Description

In this role, the Contracts Manager will be responsible for oversight of Contracts Management for five business units (MicroPac, Storm, Hi-Rel, Relays and Reynolds). This role will be managing all contracts matters starting from proposal development, negotiations, order entry, program execution and through contract closeout. The person in this position will have an attention to detail, reference/review prior contracts (if available), evaluate potential benefits as well as risks about a particular contract and able to synthesize best option for approval/consideration by the business and executive management. This position reports to the Group VP/GM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned}:

  • Craft, evaluate, negotiate and execute a wide variety of contracts covering a range of transactions which will include but not limited to T&Cs, reps and certs, MOUs, LTAs, etc
  • Create and maintain relationships with customers and serve as the single point of contact for matters concerning contracts.
  • Maintain records of correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.
  • Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters.
  • Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension or renewal; making recommendations.
  • Solve any contract-related issues that may arise with parties internally & externally.
  • Manages long-term and short-term goals by working with stakeholders to align goals and projects into roadmaps.
  • Obtain, maintain, and manage the complete contractual reports.
  • Supports audit process and participates as required.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of commercial and government contracting including FARs, DFARs and ITAR
  • Capacity to effectively address issues with a high degree of scope and terms/conditions complexity
  • Aptitude to perform risk assessments on proposals, contracts terms and conditions, potential business deals, and develop strategies to maximize achievement of program financial and performance goals and to minimize potential risks to the business
  • Ability to formulate and execute business strategies to reduce risk, enhance customer satisfaction, build positive customer relationships, improve profitability and support new business opportunities
  • Mature judgment, proactive involvement in strategic issues and problem resolution skills are required
  • Possess the ability to multi-task routine and complex contract and proposal activities while responding to unplanned quick response requirements as they emerge
  • Effective communicator both orally and in writing with strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) skills are a must

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant disciple is required. Desired Education: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Juris Doctor (JD) and/or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM)
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience managing contracts preferably in a manufacturing environment Background in Operations, Aerospace/Defense, and Engineering is a plus.
  • Outstanding legal writing skills, with the ability to draft contracts and agreements that clearly, accurately, and concisely reflect the details, terms, obligations, liabilities, and remedies of the contracting parties.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work at a detailed level.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with experience in developing innovative solutions and a successful record of problem-solving.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, Corporate and business unit management, and functional counterparts in a professional manner.
  • Absolute commitment to performing job in compliance with the highest ethical standards.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required up to ten percent (10%) of the time.

Salary Range: $140k - $160k (depending on experience)

Signing Bonus: $15k

Salary Range:

$120,300.00-$160,400.000
